HelpCenterConnectingCreating New ConnectionsManually in Windows XPStep 1 - Opening the New Connection WizardThere are a number of ways to access the New Connection Wizard. One of the most common ways is through the Control Panel. Follow the instructions below:
The New Connection Wizard will now open. Step 2 - The Welcome ScreenYou should now see the Welcome to the New Connection Wizard window. Click Next to continue with the setup, or Cancel to quit now (the cancel button is available through-out the entire setup process).
Step 3 - Network Connection TypeClick on the circle beside the message Connect to the Internet; a green dot should appear inside the circle. Click Next.
Step 4 - Getting ReadyClick on the circle beside the message Set up my connection manually; a green dot should appear inside the circle. Click Next.
Step 5 - Internet ConnectionClick on the circle beside the message Connect using a dial-up modem; a green dot should appear inside the circle. Click Next.
Step 6 - Connection NameEnter a name for this connection in the space provided. You can name the connection anything you wish. Click Next.
Step 7 - Phone Number to DialWe offer many local access numbers all across North America. Enter an access number we offer in your local area. If you have yet to select an access number, select a new access number from the access numbers page visit our access numbers help page.
Step 8 - Internet Account InformationEnter the username and password you will connect to the internet with. You selected these during signup. You will need to re-enter the password for confirmation purposes. Click Next.
Step 9 - Completing the New Connection WizardYou have now completed the New Connection Wizard. Click the box beside Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop if you want one. Click Finish.
