HelpCenterConnectingCreating New ConnectionsUsing the Internet Dialer UtilityStep 1 - Obtaining Dialer UtilityIf you have not already downloaded the Internet Dialer Utility you can do so through the Members area, under My Downloads. Click on the Internet Dialer link to begin downloading the setup file. Save the file to a location that you can easily find (i.e. your Desktop). Step 2 - Launch the Dailer UtilityAfter you download the Dialer Utility. Browse to the location that you saved the file and double click it to begin setting up your new Internet connection. Step 3 - Customer Use AgreementIn order to continue the setup process you must agree to the Customer Use Agreement. Click on the circle beside the option I Accept. Click Continue.
Step 4 - Remove Old Dialup AccountsThe Dialer Utility will check your system for any old dialup accounts that you still have installed. Click the box beside those accounts you wish to remove. Click Next. If you wish to keep any of the old accounts, just click Next.
Step 5 - Remove Old Email AccountsThe Dialer Utility will check your system for any old email accounts that you still have installed. Click the box beside those accounts you wish to remove. Click Next. If you wish to keep any of the old accounts, just click Next.
Step 6 - Enter Your UsernameEnter the same username you selected during signing into the text box shown. Click Next.
Step 7 - Enter Your PasswordEnter the password you selected during signing into each text box shown, you are asked to enter the password twice to ensure that you haven't made a mistake. Click Next.
Step 8 - Enter Your Real NameThe dialer utitly may ask you for your real name. This is so the the Dailer Utility can properly setup your default email account on your computer. Enter your actual name and click next.
Step 9 - Enter Your OrganizationThe dialer utitly may ask you for your organization. This is so the the Dailer Utility can properly setup your default email account on your computer. If this is a personal account, then just click next, otherwise enter your organizations name and then click next.
Step 10 - Warning MessageYou will be shown a warning, explaining that you should select a local access number to avoid any long-distance charges. Click OK
Step 11 - Select a Local Access NumberFrom the drop-down menus shown, choose your state and area code. A list of local access numbers available in the your area will display below. Select a number from the list and click next.
Step 12 - Additional Dialing CommandsEnter any additional numbers that you want to automatically dial when connecting to the internet. For instance, if you work in an office setting that requires you to dial a specific number to access an outside line, enter that number beside the text "Add other dailing prefix(es):". Click Next to continue.
Step 13 - Dialer GenerationNow that you've entered all the neccessary information, the Dialer Utility will begin the process of creating your new Internet connection. When completed the dialer will ask you if you would like to connect now, click ok to test your new connection. Step 14 - Desktop IconYou will notice a new icon has been placed on your desktop. To re-connect in the future simply double click this icon, if you are not already connected to the Internet at the time, a connection window will open and your new dialer will attmpt to make a connection at that time. |
